PCD - Cutters
Polycrystalline diamond is extremely hard and is produced by sintering together selected diamond particles and a bonding matrix at high pressure in combination with high temperatures. Due to its enormous hardness and toughness, PCD is extremely wear-resistant and has high thermal conductivity. By combining the outstanding hardness and wear properties of diamond with the strength characteristics of carbide, PCD is a cutting material that allows cutting performance to be realized up to the limits of the machine tools and cutting systems available today.
Your plus
The advantages for you
Our PCD-tipped cutting tools are brazed in our in-house high-vacuum furnace. The bond created by vacuum brazing has a particularly high strength and heat dissipation, significantly higher than with atmospheric inductive brazing. A laser-generated chip breaker is also worthwhile for PCD cutting to prevent the formation of flowing chips. We use a large selection of PCD grades from various manufacturers to ensure that we can respond optimally to your requirements. We are happy to advise our customers on the right choice of PCD grades.
