CVD - Cutters
CVD diamond far surpasses polycrystalline diamond (PCD) in terms of its mechanical and thermal properties. Especially in very abrasive applications, it often has a clear advantage over PCD. The CVD cutting material consists of pure diamond crystals without binder material, which are deposited from a gas phase in a special C(hemical) V(apour) D(eposition) process. However, due to the higher processing costs, it must be considered in advance in which areas of application this cutting-edge material will provide an economic advantage.

The advantages for you
The CVD-tipped cutting tools are brazed in our in-house high-vacuum furnace. Brazing / joining CVD to a carbide base carrier is only possible in a vacuum brazing process. It is often worth using a laser-generated chip breaker to prevent the formation of flow chips. We use CVD grades from various manufacturers in order to be able to respond optimally to your requirements. We are happy to advise our customers on the right choice of CVD grades.
