Since the company was founded in 1994 by Manfred Lechner, LWS GmbH has attached great importance to sustainability and ecology<\/span>.<\/p>

Since then, our aim has been to reduce thecarbon footprint<\/sub> and ecological footprint of our activities to a minimum.
We have already installed many different measures and are constantly optimizing and expanding them. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Energy saving<\/span><\/span><\/h3>

The first PV system was installed on the roof of the production buildings back in 2009, allowing a considerable proportion of our energy requirements to be fed back into the power grid. Conversely, part of our electricity consumption is generated ina CO2-neutral<\/sub> way. <\/p>\n

In 2010, we expanded our production\/administration facilities. Here, too, it was a matter of course to rely on solar energy. The new hall roof was therefore also equipped with a PV system. <\/p>\n

At this point, the interior lighting was gradually converted to LED. On the one hand, this provides better illumination and, of course, a better energy balance. In future, the economical LED technology will be used without exception for new purchases. <\/p>\n

Efficient internal energy management continuously looks at further possible improvements and savings in the facility area, as well as in the actual process chain.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Conservation of resources<\/span><\/span><\/h3>

Another major factor is our reconditioning service – the LWS HighLife Tool Service<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This has been an integral part of our service program since the company was founded in 1994 and, in addition to the (usually considerable) cost savings for our customers, also ensures the careful use of valuable raw materials such as cobalt and tungsten. The multiple use – of Cutters sintered at high energy cost – naturally benefits the reduction ofCO2 emissions<\/sub>. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Waste avoidance<\/span><\/span><\/h3>

The reduction of hazardous waste through the reconditioning of cutting tools is an argument that should not be underestimated.<\/p>

Only a fraction of the material volume, e.g. of a Cutters, is effectively used for machining and worn out. The majority ends up as hazardous waste. <\/p>
